Tuesday was a positive day for our markets.  Harvest corn closed up 6 1/4, harvest soybeans closed up 7, spot winter wheat closed up 9 and spot spring wheat closed up 4 3/4.  In the overnight trade corn and soybeans are now negative with the wheat sector still positive.  Oil closed up $1.22 yesterday at $64.52 per barrel.  It is weaker in trading this morning with it now valued at $64.22 per barrel.  With some very choppy trading our dollar has traded between a low of $0.726 US and high of $0.728 US over the last 24 hours.  This morning it is currently valued at $0.727 US.

The row crop market had a nice old fashioned ‘Turnaround Tuesday’ yesterday after being negative on Monday.  The corn market recovered all of its losses from Monday and soybeans doubled up on the positive side the negative from Monday.

Soybeans were supported by strength in the soybean oil market.  It is being driven by the continued strong demand from the renewable fuels sector.  A rumour that the EPA is going to amend some of their renewable fuel credits to assist larger refineries was the positive catalyst yesterday.   Of course the continued thoughts that President Trump and President Xi are going to talk this Friday also supported the market with hopes that they will announce something positive for the soybean trade between the two countries.

The corn market continues to be much stronger then what many analysts feel is warranted with the record large crop being harvested in the US.  The supply side is ready to dominate this market however so far it seems that the bulls will not pushed aside.  This market has overall been up over the last month or so with it increasing a bit then pulling back a bit.  Overall demand has been giving the market enough strength to keep prices from pulling back.  The analysts that I follow do not really seem to think that this can continue through the harvest season and keep recommending to sell any rallies.
