Announcement
Yesterday morning, Dwight peacefully finished his 5 year battle with colorectal cancer. We are thankful for the many prayers, goodness and care we have received from so many throughout Dwight’s battle.
Dwight’s children: Ron, Greg, Allison & Delores will continue operating the business in Dwight’s place.
Dwight touched many lives throughout his 58 years here but now he is free from pain and in heaven where he longed to be.
Details regarding visitation and funeral arrangements to follow shortly.
With much thankfulness,
Ruth Ann, Delores, Brian, Allison, Greg and Ron.
Thursday was a mixed day for our markets. Spot corn closed up 1, spot soybeans closed up 1 1/2, spot winter wheat closed down 5 3/4 and spot spring wheat closed down 6 1/4. In the overnight trade all of our markets have fallen on the negative side. Oil closed up $1.41 on Thursday at $73.13 per barrel. It is weaker in trading this morning with it now valued at $72.89 per barrel. Our dollar started out yesterday morning at $0.693 US and has traded mostly higher since then. This morning it is currently valued at $0.695 US.
Weekly ethanol production for last week increased by 0.3% in the US to come in at 1.111 million barrels per day. Both blender demand and exports were down for the week which resulted in a 2.4% increase in stocks up to 23.639 million barrels (983 million gallons). The increase in production is still seen as bullish as this market continues to grind through record amounts of corn.
